* The BSE Sensex ended at 54,369.77 up by 546.41 points or 1.02% after trading in a range of 54,465.91 and 54,034.31. There were 14 stocks advancing and 16 stocks declining on the index.

* The broader indices ended in red; the BSE Mid cap index down by 1.05%, and Small cap index was down by 1.06%. 

* The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were, Energy was up by 0.43%, while, Realty was down by 1.69%, FMCG was down by 0.93%, Utilities was down by 0.26%, Capital Goods was down by 0.83%, Oil & Gas was down by 0.48%, and Telecom was down by 2.25%, were top lossing indices were on BSE.

* There were HDFC was up by 4.77%, Kotak Bank was up by 3.74%, ICICI Bank was up by 3.58%, SBIN was up by 2.37%, and HDFC Bank was up by 2.12%, the top gainers were on the Sensex.

* There were Titan was down by 2.15%, Nestle India was down by 1.39%, UltraTec Cement was down by 1.19%, Sun Pharma was down by 1.16%, and Maruti was down by 1.09%, the top losers were on the Sensex.

* The CNX Nifty ended at 16,258.80 up by 128.05 points or 0.79% after trading in a range of 16,290.20 and 16,176.15. There were 19 stocks advancing and 31 stocks declining.
