PNB declines sharply on reporting 55% fall in Q4 consolidated net profit

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 47.60 on 26-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 29.10 on 12-May-2022.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has reported results for fourth quarter and year ended March 31, 2022.
The bank has reported a fall of 65.62% in its net profit at Rs 201.57 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 586.33 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank decreased marginally by 1.36% at Rs 21,095.17 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 21,386.01 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
On the consolidated basis, the bank has reported a fall of 55.18% in its net profit at Rs 245.05 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 546.78 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank decreased marginally by 1.31% at Rs 21,350.59 crore for Q4FY22 as compared Rs 21,633.84 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2022, the bank has reported a rise of 71% in its net profit at Rs 3,456.96 crore as compared to Rs 2,021.62 crore for the previous year. However, total income of the bank decreased by 5.97% at Rs 87,199.49 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 92,740.72 crore for year ended March 31, 2021.
For the year ended March 31, 2022, on the consolidated basis, the bank has reported a rise of 70.78% in its net profit at Rs 3,675.96 crore as compared to Rs 2,152.43 crore for the previous year. However, total income of the bank decreased by 6.19% at Rs 88,339.49 crore for year under review as compared to Rs 94,169.95 crore for year ended March 31, 2021.
