Maruti Suzuki declines on reporting 1.60% fall in total production in April

Maruti Suzuki India is currently trading at Rs. 7639.50, down by 93.25 points or 1.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 7732.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 7670.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 7750.00 and Rs. 7543.95 respectively. So far 25223 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 9022.00 on 10-Feb-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 6400.00 on 03-May-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 8067.20 and Rs. 7543.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 231283.07 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.37%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.82% and 4.81% respectively.

Maruti Suzuki India’s total production (Passenger Vehicle + Light Commercial Vehicles) in April 2022 has decreased by 1.60% on a yearly basis to 157,392 units. The company had produced a total of 159,955 units in the year-ago period. The shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles during the month.

Passenger vehicle production stood at 152,954 units in April 2022, as against 157,585 units in April 2021. Production of mini cars comprising Alto and S-Presso models stood at 22,655 units in April 2022 as against 29,056 units a year ago. Similarly, manufacturing of compact cars, comprising Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, WagonR, OEM Model stood at 76,978 units as against 83,432 units earlier. Production of utility vehicles -- Ertiga, Gypsy, Jimny, SCross, Vitara Brezza, XL6, OEM Model -- increased to 40,399 units in April 2022 from 31,059 units in the corresponding month of 2021.           

Meanwhile, production of its light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 4,438 units as against 2,370 units in the year-ago month.
