Alembic Pharma gets USFDA nod to market generic antidepressant drug:
Alembic Pharmaceuticals on Thursday said it has received an approval from the US health regulator to market a generic antidepressant medication in the American market. The company has received an approval from the US Food & Drug Administration to market Brexpiprazole tablets in strengths of 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 3 mg and 4 mg, the drug firm said in a statement. The company's product is therapeutically equivalent to Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co's reference listed drug product Rexulti tablets, it added.
Edtech startup Byju's to raise $250 mn in Aakash pre-IPO funding:
Byju’s is in talks with existing investors and new investors to raise about $250 million for its tutoring service subsidiary Aakash Educational Services (AESL), according to people familiar with the matter.
Byju’s has raised total funding of $5.8 billion from investors like Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Sumeru Ventures, Vitruvian Partners, BlackRock, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Sequoia, Silver Lake, Bond Capital, Tencent, General Atlantic and Tiger Global.
Bessemer India Capital sells 7.75% stake in Home First Finance for Rs 467cr:
Bessemer India Capital Holdings II on Thursday divested 7.75 per cent stake in Home First Finance Company India for over Rs 467 crore through an open market transaction. Fidelity Funds - Asian Smaller Companies Pool and Nomura Trust and Banking Co. Ltd bought a total of 11.93 lakh equity shares of the company. According to the bulk deal data available with the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Bessemer India Capital Holdings II sold a total of 68,11,313 shares, amounting to 7.75 per cent stake in the company.
The shares were disposed at an average price of Rs 686.07 apiece, taking the transaction value at Rs 467.30 crore.
Power Grid Corporation board approves raising up to Rs 900 cr via bonds:
State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India on Monday said that its board has approved raising up to Rs 900 crore through issuance of non-convertible bonds on private placement basis. "Committee of Directors for Bonds, in their meeting held today i.e. on 9th March, 2023, have approved the raising of unsecured, nonconvertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable POWERGRID Bonds-LXXI (71 st) issue 2022-23 on private placement up to Rs 900 crore by securitization of cash flows of 10 years i.e, till FY 2032-33 of its operational SPV viz., 'POWERGRID Mithilanchal Transmission Ltd (PMTL)'," a BSE filing said.
