MakeMyTrip partners with IndiGo to launch charter flights to Phuket
Travel company MakeMyTrip has partnered with IndiGo airline to launch exclusive charter flights between Mumbai and Phuket in Thailand, according to a statement on Wednesday. "As the pandemic eases and countries begin welcoming back Indian travellers, MakeMyTrip together with IndiGo, is making travelling to the island easy while Phuket continues to remain closed for direct flyers from India," the statement mentioned. As part of the package, MakeMyTrip will offer end-to-end travel services, including airport transfers, certificate of entry (CoE) assistance, early checkin and check-out at one of the premium properties, travel insurance, and return RT-PCR test assistance, it noted.
Unnati raises Rs 60 crore from 3 firms including Incofin Investment
Agritech startup Unnati on Wednesday said it has raised Rs 60 crore in Series A funding from Incofin Investment Management, NabVentures and Orios. The fresh capital will be utilised for augmenting tech infrastructure for farmers and increase the uStore network, the company said in a statement. Commenting on the funding, Unnati CEO and Co-founder Ashok Prasad said, “We have raised our Series A round of funding and are thrilled to have marquee investors backing us in our journey."
Google announces first cohort of media startups under GNI initiative
Google on Wednesday announced the first set of news startups that will form the first cohort of its Google News Initiative Startups Lab. The GNI Startups Lab is a 16-week catalyst programme that aims to help the next generation independent Indian news startups achieve financial and operational sustainability. The programme is a collaboration between GNI, global innovation lab Echos, and DIGIPUB News India Foundation.
Baby products firm Cradlewise raises $7mn in seed round led by Footwork
Cradlewise, a Silicon Valley-based baby technology company that makes smart cribs for babies, has raised a series seed round of $7 millon led by Footwork with significant participation from CRV and follow-on from existing investors SOSV and Better Capital. Other notable investors participating include Katrina Lake (founder of Stitch Fix), Jeremy Cai (CEO of Italic) and Dilip Goswani (CTO of Molekule). Sachin Oswal (Co-founder Infibeam) and Sonny Vu (ex-CEO of Misfit Wearables) have participated in previous rounds of funding.
Kalyan Jewellers India posts consolidated Q2 PAT of Rs 68.77 cr
Kalyan Jewellers India on Wednesday posted a Rs 68.77 crore consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter ending September 30, as easing of COVID-19 related restrictions and recovering economy boosted sales momentum. The company had reported a consolidated loss of Rs 136.12 crore during the corresponding quarter of 2020-21, Kalyan Jewellers India said in a regulatory filing.
