Coal India gains as its production rises by 4% to 83.5 MT in March

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 217.00, up by 3.35 points or 1.57% from its previous closing of Rs. 213.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 213.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 217.90 and Rs. 213.70 respectively. So far 157645 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 263.30 on 09-Nov-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 164.75 on 12-May-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 217.90 and Rs. 207.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 133176.56 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 29.13% and 4.74% respectively.

Coal India’s (CIL) coal production has increased by 4% to 83.5 million tonnes (MT) in March 2023 as against 80.3 MT in March 2022. The company’s production in the April- March 2023 period increased 12.9 per cent to 703.2 MT, compared with 622.6 MT in the year-ago period.

The company's offtake increased by 3.4% to 64.2 MT in March, 2023, over 62.0 MT in the corresponding month of the previous financial year. Its offtake in the April- March 2023 period increased by 5.0% to 694.7 MT over 661.9 MT in the year-ago period.  

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
