Bajaj Auto declines on reporting 16% fall in February sales

Bajaj Auto is currently trading at Rs. 3419.10, down by 111.75 points or 3.16% from its previous closing of Rs. 3530.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3475.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3475.50 and Rs. 3334.65 respectively. So far 22799 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 4347.95 on 01-Jun-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 3028.35 on 20-Dec-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3637.80 and Rs. 3334.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 98386.23 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.73%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.43% and 22.84% respectively.

Bajaj Auto has reported 16 percent fall in total sales to 3,16,020 units in February 2022 as against 3,75,017  in the same month last year. Total domestic sales decreased by 32 percent to 1,12,747 units in February as compared to 1,64,811 units in February 2021.

Total two-wheeler sales were down 16 percent at 2,79,337 units as compared to 3,32,563 units in the year-ago month. Commercial Vehicles sales stood at 36,683 units in February 2022 as against 42,454 units in February 2021, registering a fall of 14 percent. Meanwhile, exports of the company decreased by 3 percent to 2,03,273 units in the reporting month compared to 2,10,206 in the same month last year. 

Bajaj Auto is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
