Ashok Leyland reported monthly domestic wholesales numbers of 8,787 units for Sep’21, up 5% MoM. Domestic MHCV were up 14% MoM to 4,529 units while domestic LCV declined by 4% MoM to 4,258 units. We believe that these numbers are broadly in line with expectations and given the overall improvement in freight outlook, volumes should pick up going ahead. Moreover, MHCV industry volumes are at multi-year low levels and Ashok Leyland would benefit from a strong rebound in industry volumes. We have a Buy rating on the stock.
