‘We must all work together’ Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath boosts morale of athletes, assures state support
Speaking at a programme for the distribution of appointment letters and prize money to international medal-winning athletes, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, "You must have seen that your Sports Director has previously led the Indian Hockey team. When a person associated with a specific field works within it, things truly move forward. It often happens—many people said so. Our Home Secretary also says he has played sports. When I asked him which ones, he mentioned playing 'Gulli Danda' on the Nepal border. I told him that if the ‘Gulli’ crosses into Nepal, it doesn't automatically make it an international sport... A player only becomes an international athlete when they participate in international competitions and win medals. We must all work together in that direction..."
