‘Very Optimistic’… says UK Business Secy Jonathan Reynolds as India-UK resumes FTA talks after 8 months’ gap

As India-UK resumes Free Trade Agreement (FTA) after a gap of 8 months, Jonathan Reynolds, Secretary of State for business and trade said, "It is always a pleasure to be in India. It is a very exciting and dynamic country...The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is the possibility of something which has tangible benefits for both countries...We get a great chance to work together in a whole range of areas in future and use it as a foundation stone for the new phase of UK-India relations..."
Meanwhile, Union Minister Piyush Goyal noted that Free trade agreement (FTA) will prove to be a major milestone in the relations between the United Kingdom and India.
The UK and India initiated negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) on January 13, 2022, with the objective of strengthening bilateral trade and investment flows
