Vedanta inches up on reporting rise of 8% in production of aluminium and zinc

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 422.20, up by 0.70 points or 0.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 421.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 425.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 425.00 and Rs. 420.60 respectively. So far 65624 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 425.00 on 05-Apr-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 209.80 on 12-Apr-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 425.00 and Rs. 396.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 156679.94 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.69%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.51% and 9.36% respectively.

Vedanta has reported a rise of 8 per cent in its production of aluminium and zinc and that of iron ore by 18 per cent during the quarter ended March 31, 2022 as compared to its output during the same quarter a year ago.

In the January-March period of the financial year 2021-22, the company's cast metal aluminium production at its smelters was at 5,72,000 tonnes, up 8 per cent from 5,31,000 tonnes in the same quarter of the preceding fiscal. Overall aluminium production in FY22 touched a record high of 22,68,000 tonnes, up 15 per cent from 19,69,000 tonnes in FY21.
