Procter & Gamble names L V Vaidyanathan as CEO for India operations

Global FMCG firm Procter & Gamble on Tuesday announced the appointment of L V Vaidyanathan as the Chief Executive Officer for its operations in India from July 1, 2022.

Vaidyanathan will take over from Madhusudan Gopalan, who will be taking up a leadership role within P&G as Senior Vice President Grooming & Oral Care, P&G Japan and Korea, the company said in a statement.

Currently he is leading P&G business in Indonesia as CEO where he has been "responsible for industry-leading growth and value creation for the company", it added.

 

Myntra moves to new fashion, tech and sustainability oriented office

Flipkart acquires ANS Commerce to strengthen its e-commerce ecosystem

Walmart group's e-commerce firm Flipkart on Tuesday said it has acquired ANS Commerce to strengthen its online retail ecosystem in the country.

Post the acquisition ANS Commerce will continue to operate as an independent e-commerce solutions platform under its existing leadership team, Flipkart said in a statement.

 

Qatar Airways, IndiGo reactivate codeshare partnership signed in 2019

Qatar Airways and IndiGo on Tuesday said they are reactivating their codeshare partnership following India's decision to resume regular international passenger flights from March 27.

In a codeshare partnership, each carrier on its distribution system can sell seats of other's flights. IndiGo had in November 2019 signed the codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways.

 

Dabur India to induct 100 EVs for last-mile product distribution

Homegrown FMCG major Dabur India Ltd on Tuesday said it plans to induct a fleet of 100 electric vehicles (EVs) in its supply chain for last-mile product distribution in the next 12 months.

The first batch of the new EVs has been inducted into its fleet in North India and has commenced deliveries in Haryana's Sonipat area. All the 100 vehicles would be inducted within the next 12 months across the nation, Dabur India Ltd CEO Mohit Malhotra said in a statement.

The move will help the company move closer to its mission of achieving carbon neutrality in its operations and will result in a sizeable reduction of carbon emissions annually, Dabur said, adding it comes close on the heels of the company achieving plastic waste neutrality in India.
