Below is Post Budget Reaction By Krishnan Sitaraman, Senior Director & Deputy Chief Ratings Officer, CRISIL Ratings “The budget announcements provide impetus to the financial sector from both near-term and long-term perspectives. Near term, on credit growth, we see measures which are expected to provide a troika of tailwinds for banks and NBFCs alike — first, growth in capex outlay by 33% to Rs10 lakh crore should be supportive for corporate credit growth; second, r...
Post Budget Reaction : The budget announcements provide impetus to the financial sector Says Krishnan Sitaraman, CRISIL Ratings
Gold, personal loan PTCs affected, direct assignments not expected to be impacted The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) amended its Master Directions on Securitisation of Standard Assets on December 5, Monday, barring securitisation of loans with residual maturity of less than 365 days — other than for trade receivables. This would limit the issuance of pass-through certificates (PTCs) backed by shorter tenure loans originated by non-banking finance companies (NBFCs). Separately, the...
Bar on short-tenure loan securitisation to affect 5% deals : Crisil
The assets under management (AUM) of housing finance companies are expected to grow 10-12 per cent in this financial year 2022-23, as against 8 per cent in the last financial year, mainly due to home loans, which could grow 15 per cent on-year, said CRISIL. Last fiscal, HFC growth was a story of two halves: stunted to just about 2 per cent (annualised) in the first half because of the second wave of the pandemic, and a V-shaped 14 per cent (annualised) growth in the second half. "S...
Housing finance companies' AUM to grow 10-12% in FY23: CRISIL
The assets under management (AUM) of the non-banking finance companies (NBFC) to grow 11-12 per cent, a four-year high, to Rs 13 lakh crore by the end of this fiscal, riding on macroeconomic tailwinds, ratings agency CRISIL said. Disruption in business and economic activity amid Covid-19 had constrained AUM growth to 2-4 per cent in fiscals 2020 and 2021, and to 5 per cent in fiscal 2022. "Even as growth touches double digits again, it will be lower than the pre-pandemic level. Ind...
