Indian Fertilizer Firms Eye Urea Production in Russia Amid Export Restrictions.

In response to China's export restrictions, Indian fertilizer companies are planning to establish a urea manufacturing facility in Russia. This move aims to secure a steady supply of urea, a vital agricultural input, and reduce reliance on the volatile global market.

Surge in Fertilizer Imports in India Ahead of Rabi Season.

India has significantly increased fertilizer imports in anticipation of a strong rabi (winter) sowing season, buoyed by favorable monsoon rains. In September 2025, the country imported nearly six times more urea and three times more di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) compared to the same period last year.

Anhydrous Fertilizer Prices Rise in the U.S.

Fertilizer prices in the U.S. remained mixed during the third week of October 2025. The average retail price of anhydrous increased by 8% from the previous month, while urea prices declined by 5%. Anhydrous is now 20% more expensive than it was a year ago, while urea is 24% higher than last year.
