WABAG surges on securing DBO order for Wastewater Treatment Plant in Delhi

VA Tech Wabag is currently trading at Rs. 1458.45, up by 47.80 points or 3.39% from its previous closing of Rs. 1410.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1451.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1471.00 and Rs. 1421.20 respectively. So far 28802 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1679.00 on 28-May-2025 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1033.95 on 27-Jan-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1,558.15 and Rs. 1326.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 9037.95 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 19.09%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.37% and 58.53% respectively.

VA Tech Wabag (WABAG) has secured a Design, Build, Operate (DBO) order from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB). The order is classified as a ‘medium value order’ which valued between Rs 100 crore to Rs 250 crore. The order involves Design, Engineering, Construction and Commissioning (EPC), followed by Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of 17 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at Mitraon along with Sludge Dewatering Facility, Pumping Stations and associated piping works. 

The WWTP, scheduled for completion over 21 months, represents a key infrastructure initiative aimed at strengthening Delhi’s long-term water sustainability and environmental resilience. The project is designed to treat wastewater using advanced, modern and sustainable treatment technologies, while contributing to cleaner waterways and improved urban sanitation.

Developed with a strong focus on environmental stewardship, the facility incorporates advanced odour control systems, green landscaping and energy-efficient operations to ensure reliable and sustainable performance. The project reflects a future-ready approach to integrated wastewater management and sustainable urban development.
