Waaree Energies surges after getting nod to acquire Kamath Transformers

Waaree Energies is currently trading at Rs 2984.95, up by 37.00 points or 1.26% from its previous closing of Rs 2947.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 2984.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs 3039.30 and Rs 2957.15 respectively. So far 41846 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52-week high of Rs 3740.75 on 06-Nov-2024 and a 52-week low of Rs 1808.65 on 07-Apr-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 3039.30 and Rs 2707.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 85588.85 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.30%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 3.16% and 32.54% respectively.

Waaree Energies has received approval from Board of Directors for acquisition of Kamath Transformers. The cost of acquisition is around Rs 293 crore. Kamath Transformers is in the business of manufacturing transformers.

The company’s board has approved the acquisition of Green New Delhi Forever Energy (newly incorporated non-operating company) by Waaree Forever Energies, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. It will be acquired for Rs 1 lakh per share at a face value of Rs 10 each. 

Waaree Energies expects to complete both the acquisitions in FY26 in all-cash consideration. The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on May 19, 2025 has, inter alia, considered and approved the same. 

Waaree Energies is primarily engaged in the business of manufacture of solar photo-voltaic modules, setting up of projects in solar space and sale of electricity.
