Vested, a leading digital investment platform, announces a pivotal expansion in its service offerings, extending beyond its successful U.S. stocks investment product to include a diverse range of alternative assets.

Vested's journey began with addressing a critical gap in the Indian investment market, that of global diversification. The company created an easy-to-use platform for access to US stocks and ETFs, which led to over 2.5 Lakh investors opening accounts and deposits exceeding INR 1,800 crores as of November 2023.

Vested’s customers diversify a part of their portfolio into the US markets, treating it as an alternative asset. As part of its expansion, the company is now launching three India-based Alternative Assets: P2P Lending (via Vested Edge), INR Bonds and Solar.

Vested Edge for P2P Lending

Vested Edge allows investors to add P2P Lending to their alternative fixed income portfolio, offering potential returns of up to 12%. Unlike other platforms, Vested Edge helps investors minimize risk by helping them automatically distribute their investments across multiple RBI-regulated P2P platforms, starting with two such platforms: Faircent and Lendbox.

Since the RBI's 2017 regulations, P2P Lending has witnessed significant growth in India, with projections estimating a market size of $10 billion by 2026.

INR Bonds

INR Bonds offer another alternate fixed income investment opportunity to Vested customers. Vested offers a curated selection of listed corporate and government bonds, with corporate bonds rated A & above and government bonds backed by the Indian government, offering returns between 9-12%.

Solar

With its solar offering, Vested is looking to give individuals the opportunity to earn income while helping India transition to clean energy. Through Vested Solar, investors can own solar panels in rooftop projects and earn about 10-13% IRR from the electricity generated over the panel's lifetime.

Along with the new asset classes, the company has also launched its Vested Academy - an initiative that provides comprehensive information on Alternative Assets so that investors can make educated decisions.

Viram Shah, CEO, Vested, said, “We are excited to add additional alternative assets to our existing US investing offering. We believe that Alternative Assets are the future. Over the next decade, our investment portfolios will look very different from what they do today with investors participating in multiple assets like Bonds, Solar, P2P Lending, Real Estate, Global stocks and more along with traditional Mutual Funds, FDs and Gold. We chose to add these three assets first based on their market potential over the next 10 years and the safety guardrails inherent in these assets relative to other alternative assets.”

As Vested embarks on this new journey with P2P Lending, INR Bonds, and Solar investments, it continues its commitment to enhancing its US investing product to make it more robust. All in all, the company will continue working towards helping Indian investors diversify with ease.
