Vedanta rises on getting declared as preferred bidder for Punnam Manganese block

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs 456.70, up by 1.50 points or 0.33% from its previous closing of Rs 455.20 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs 457.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs 458.30 and Rs 454.25 respectively. So far 117663 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52-week high of Rs 527.00 on 16-Dec-2024 and a 52-week low of Rs 362.20 on 07-Apr-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 470.80 and Rs 443.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 178880.70 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.38%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.02% and 16.59% respectively.
Vedanta has been declared as the preferred bidder for the Punnam Manganese block by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Punnam Manganese Block is at G4 level of exploration with total area of 152 hectares for the block.
The Department of Mines & Geology, Government of Andhra Pradesh vide its ‘Notice Inviting Tender' dated July 10, 2025, had invited tenders to participate in the auction process for grant of Composite License in respect of Punnam Manganese Block in the State of Andhra Pradesh. Post qualifying at the initial bid stage, the Company participated in the live E-auction for grant of the stated Composite License.
