Vedanta gains on reporting marginal growth in aluminium production in Q4FY26

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 690.00, up by 2.20 points or 0.32% from its previous closing of Rs. 687.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 687.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 708.50 and Rs. 687.00 respectively. So far 916924 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 770.00 on 29-Jan-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 362.20 on 07-Apr-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 708.50 and Rs. 650.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 270090.50 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 56.38%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.40% and 16.21% respectively.

Vedanta has reported marginal rise of 2% in its total aluminium production at 613 thousand tonnes in the fourth quarter of FY26 (Q4FY26) as compared to 604 thousand tonnes in same quarter last year. Further, the mined Zinc production on domestic front has increased by 2% to 315 thousand tonnes in Q4 of FY26 as compared to 310 thousand tonnes in same quarter last year. The power sales for the fourth quarter of FY26 increased by 43% to 5,516 million units as compared to 3,860 million units in same quarter last year. 

However, the production of saleable iron ore declined 3% to 2.0 million tonnes in Q4 of FY26 as compared to 2.1 million tonnes in same quarter last year. Further, the zinc mined metal output on international front was decreased by 3% to 49 thousand tonnes in Q4 of FY26 compared to 50 thousand tonnes in same quarter last year. Also, its total Finished steel production declined by 1% to 354 thousand tonnes in Q4 of FY26 as compared to 355 thousand tonnes in same quarter last year.

Moreover, its Copper Cathodes production has recorded a 4% fall at 42 thousand tonnes in 4QFY26 as compared to 44 thousand tonnes in same quarter last year. Its average daily gross operated production of Oil & Gas has declined by 15% to 81.5 kboepd (thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day) in Q4FY26 over 96.2 kboepd in Q4FY25.
