Va Tech Wabag shines on winning 'Large' order from BWSSB
VA Tech Wabag is currently trading at Rs. 2076.20, up by 85.75 points or 4.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 1990.45 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 2056.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2098.00 and Rs. 2041.35 respectively. So far 43634 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2252.40 on 13-Jul-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1033.95 on 27-Jan-2026.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2252.40 and Rs. 1968.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12933.83 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 19.09%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.37% and 58.53% respectively.
Va Tech Wabag has secured ‘Large’ order from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) for design, build, operate (DBO) of a 100 MLD and 60 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Byramangala and Bellandur respectively, along with a 25 MLD Tertiary Treatment Plant (TTP) at Byramangala. The ‘Large’ order is valued in the range of Rs 250 crore to 600 crore.
The scope includes the Design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPC) of the wastewater treatment facilities along with biogas-based power generation. The STPs will be based on the Activated Sludge Process integrated with a Biological Nutrient Removal system. The TTP at Byramangala will utilize Ultrafiltration to produce high-quality treated water suitable for distribution to surrounding water bodies. It is worth noting that, the company had previously executed the first phase of the Bellandur facility and has now been awarded the second phase as well. The EPC scope of the facilities is scheduled for completion within 36 months, followed by a 7-year Operations and Maintenance (O&M) period, during which the company will ensure efficient and reliable plant performance.
The Wastewater Treatment facilities at Byramangala and Bellandur will significantly strengthen Bengaluru's wastewater treatment and water infrastructure, addressing the city's growing challenges arising from rapid urbanization. The facility will incorporate anaerobic sludge digestion with biogas-based captive power generation, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, lowering the plant's energy footprint, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting resource recovery. By integrating the treatment technologies with renewable energy generation, the project will support Bengaluru's longterm water security while advancing its sustainability and circular economy objectives.
