Tata Elxsi rises on signing MoU with SCTIMST

Tata Elxsi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram, an Institution of National Importance under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, to collaborate on the development of next-generation healthcare solutions.
The collaboration combines SCTIMST's strengths in cardiovascular sciences, neurosciences, biotechnology, and clinical sciences with Tata Elxsi's expertise in product engineering, design, AI, and digital technologies. Together, the organisations will address opportunities across diagnostics, medical imaging, digital health, biomedical engineering, medical devices, and related healthcare technologies for India and global markets.
Unlike traditional industry-academia engagements, the partnership creates an extended innovation and engineering environment for Tata Elxsi, its customers, and healthcare partners. It brings together clinicians, specialist researchers, advanced laboratories, prototyping infrastructure, and product engineering capabilities within a single collaborative ecosystem. This will enable MedTech companies to develop, validate, and scale new products more efficiently. The partnership also strengthens capabilities in biocompatibility, toxicology, and other areas.
