Shyam Metalics rises on acquiring 26% stake in Emerge Green Power
Shyam Metalics And Energy is currently trading at Rs. 980.00, up by 4.95 points or 0.51% from its previous closing of Rs. 975.05 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 981.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 981.90 and Rs. 974.75 respectively. So far 3249 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1014.45 on 04-Jun-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 745.65 on 16-Mar-2026.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1002.30 and Rs. 951.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 27258.62 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.59%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 12.26% and 13.15% respectively.
Shyam Metalics and Energy has acquired 26% equity share capital in Emerge Green Power (EGPPL) and consequently become an Associate company of the Company. This acquisition involves allotment of 26,000 equity shares of Emerge Green Power to the company which resulted in holding of 26% Equity Shares in EGPPL. This strategic investment enables the Company to qualify as a captive user pursuant to the relevant provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003 and Rules made thereunder and to get the benefit of preferential tariff thereby reducing overall energy costs and utilising environment friendly renewable green and sustainable energy. The cost of acquisition is Rs 75 lakh.
The acquisition is expected to reduce the company's dependence on grid power and lower energy costs, contribute to environmental goals through increased usage of green power, improve EBITDA margins due to lower operational expenditure on power, and support compliance with regulatory norms and ESG frameworks.
