Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Wednesday
The Indian rupee is trading flat against the US dollar on Wednesday, tracked by marginal gains in domestic equities, likely IPO-related inflows and active intervention by the Reserve Bank of India. Foreign institutional investors purchased equities worth Rs 1,440.66 crore on a net basis on Tuesday, exchange data showed. Meanwhile, the dollar index's rally to a six-week high and escalating US government shutdown fears have made the rupee vulnerable.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 88.77 on Tuesday. The currency touched a high and low of 88.79 and 88.7550 respectively.
