Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Tuesday

The Indian rupee was trading flat against the US dollar on Tuesday tracking weak domestic equities and foreign fund outflows ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's Monetary Policy Committee decision due on Wednesday. Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,831.59 crore on Monday, exchange data showed. Moreover, rupee sentiments remained weak due to the US President Donald Trump's latest tariff policies and their impact on India. Meanwhile, fall in crude oil prices and a steady American currency have supported the rupee to some extent.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 88.75 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 88.77 and 88.6950 respectively.
