Rupee strengthens against US dollar in early trade on Wednesday
The Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday as Brent crude oil prices and the US dollar index retreated further from their elevated levels, ahead of an interim peace deal between the United States and Iran scheduled to be signed in Switzerland on Friday. Additional support came from firm domestic equities ahead of the US Federal Reserve's first policy decision under Chair Kevin Warsh, where interest rates are widely expected to remain unchanged. Meanwhile, Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 749.18 crore on a net basis on Tuesday, exchange data showed.
