Rupee strengthens against US dollar in early trade on Friday
The Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar in early trade on Friday amid sustained Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) inflows, as data showed that FIIs were net buyers on Thursday, purchasing equities worth Rs 14,974.68 crore. Moreover, optimism over a potentially quicker resolution to the Middle East conflict following a Democratic sweep in the US midterm elections also supported rupee sentiments. However, stronger US dollar index and firm crude oil prices limited further gains in the rupee.
The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 94.10, stronger by 31 paise from its previous close of 94.41 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 94.50 and 94.08 respectively.
