Rainbow Children` Medicare soars on receiving approval to acquire 76% stake in Pratiksha Hospital

Rainbow Children's Medicare is currently trading at Rs. 1530.75, up by 27.00 points or 1.80% from its previous closing of Rs. 1503.75 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 1504.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1547.70 and Rs. 1504.00 respectively. So far 1356 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1708.50 on 26-Nov-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1180.15 on 19-Aug-2024.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1547.70 and Rs. 1450.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 15563.81 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 49.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 39.03% and 11.11% respectively.
Rainbow Children's Medicare has received approval for execution of Securities Subscription Agreement and Shareholders’ Agreement for acquisition of 76% of fully diluted equity share capital and 100% of Non-Convertible Redeemable Preference shares (NCRPS) of M/s Pratiksha Women & Child Care Hospital (Pratiksha Hospital) in Guwahati. Pratiksha Hospital is a 150 beds hospital, of which 100 beds are operational presently and an additional 50 beds will be operational in next 6 months to establish pediatric super specialties. For 76% of fully diluted equity share capital, company will invest around Rs 129.96 crore, while for 100% of NCRPS, it will invest around Rs 41.04 crore. The acquisition is expected to be completed within 30 days. The board of directors of the company in their meeting held on August 11, 2025 have approved the same.
The acquisition of Pratiksha Hospital will deepen company’s footprint in North-East India reinforcing its position as the leading provider of pediatrics & women healthcare. Strong demographic base, rising healthcare demand, higher birth rate and Increasing urbanization, makes it an ideal location for a regional healthcare hub. Integration of the Guwahati, Assam facility with company’s hubs will enable advanced referrals, super-specialty consultations, and access to tertiary and quaternary-level care for complex pediatric and maternal cases for North-East Region.
