Indian equities are likely to open lower on 27th October 2026, with Gift Nifty down 102 points at 22,671. Global sentiment is mixed, as US markets closed higher overnight and Asian equities advanced in early trade, offering some support. However, West Asian tensions and crude oil prices near $115 per barrel remain key concerns, while the US Federal Reserve’s policy meeting on 27–28 October and major technology earnings this week could drive volatility.

In the previous session on 26th October 2026, Nifty closed at 22,753.20, up 153.20 points (+0.68%), following a strong opening-hour rally and ending near the day’s high. The bullish candle reflected renewed buying interest, with IT, Metal, Pharma, Healthcare and Oil & Gas leading gains, while Media and Consumer Durables lagged.

RSI improved to 46.08, above its average of 41.56, while PCR at 1.13 indicated a relatively supportive derivatives setup. However, Nifty remains below its key moving averages. Immediate support is placed at 22,500–22,550, while resistance is seen at 22,850–22,900, with Call writing around 22,800 potentially limiting the upside.

In the previous session on 26th October 2026, Bank Nifty closed at 54,366.70, up 79.35 points (+0.15%), after recovering from an intraday low of 53,777.50. The long lower shadow indicates buying interest near lower levels, though RSI at 38.74 suggests momentum remains weak. Immediate support is placed at 53,800–54,000, while resistance is seen at 54,600–54,800.

On 26th October 2026, FIIs remained net sellers, offloading equities worth Rs 1,462 crore. In contrast, DIIs extended their buying streak to 10 consecutive sessions, with net purchases of Rs 2,609 crore, continuing to provide domestic institutional support amid persistent foreign outflows.

The market may begin the session on a cautious footing, as Gift Nifty’s decline contrasts with the previous day’s recovery in domestic indices. Nifty’s improved momentum offers some support, but persistent FII selling and Bank Nifty’s weak RSI warrant vigilance. Global cues and price action around immediate resistance levels will be important in assessing whether the rebound can extend or gives way to renewed consolidation.
