"With the deficient monsoon and low replenishment of reservoir levels, there are concerns around crop output in the next few quarters. However, a better turnout by the non-crop portion (livestock, forestry and logging, and fishing and aquaculture) of the agri segment, which is less dependent on monsoon, would prevent a dip in the overall agri-GVA, as seen in many of the past El-Nino years. Nevertheless, given the decline in kharif acreage and weak prospects for the rabi season, ICRA has pared its FY2027 GVA growth forecast for agriculture, forestry and fishing to a tepid ~1.0% from 1.3% (+3.3% in FY2026)."
