“Gold has pulled back around 5% from its October record, and this looks like a healthy correction rather than a change in trend. The fall is driven by profit-booking after a steep rally, a firmer US dollar, elevated US bond yields, and markets scaling back expectations of Fed rate cuts, which together dull gold’s appeal against interest-bearing assets. Easing geopolitical tensions have also reduced safe-haven demand. In the near term, prices are likely to stay volatile and range-bound, with the Fed’s path and the dollar setting the direction. For investors, this decline presents a strategic buying opportunity, though it is wiser to buy in a staggered manner than all at once, since gold works as portfolio insurance rather than a quick trade. Festive and wedding demand, along with steady central bank buying, should cushion the downside."
