Indian equities are expected to trade with a positive bias next week, supported by resilient domestic fundamentals, easing geopolitical concerns and continued stock-specific opportunities as the Q1FY27 earnings season enters its final leg. On Friday, the Nifty 50 declined 0.3% to close at 24,570, due to weak global cues and investors booked profits following the recent rally. Broader markets remained relatively resilient, with the Nifty Midcap 100 gaining 0.2%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 ended flat. Sectorally, Automobiles, Information Technology and PSU Banks outperformed, whereas Private Banks, Consumer Durables and Chemicals were among the key laggards. Brent crude oil remained near US$82/bbl, while rise in US Treasury yields and a marginally weaker rupee (?95.2/US$) are expected to remain key monitorable given their potential impact on foreign capital flows and overall market sentiment. On the regulatory front, the RBI proposed a comprehensive overhaul of NBFC lending norms, including the discontinuation of revolving credit facilities. The move is expected to strengthen credit discipline, improve underwriting standards and reduce risks associated with unsecured lending, although NBFCs with significant exposure to revolving credit products may face a near-term adjustment. Primary market activity is expected to remain robust next week, with five mainboard IPOs Molbio Diagnostics, Dhoot Transmission, Milky Mist Dairy Food, Shiprocket and Behari Lal Engineering scheduled to open for subscription, representing a combined issue size of approximately Rs 7,479 crore. Meanwhile, Technocraft Ventures, LEAP India and Ardee Industries are scheduled to list on the stock exchanges, with a combined issue size of around Rs 3,158 crore. Looking ahead, investors will closely monitor India's Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation data, the ongoing Q1FY27 earnings season, US CPI and PPI inflation, the OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report, and China's industrial production and retail sales data for further cues on inflation, global growth and commodity prices.
