The benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices are likely to open flat on April 18 as trends in the GIFT Nifty indicate a muted start for the broader index with a loss of 13 points.
Nifty can find support at 22,100 followed by 22,050 and 22,000. On the higher side, 22,200 can be an immediate resistance, followed by 22,250 and 22,300.
The charts of Bank Nifty indicate that it may get support at 47,300, followed by 47,100 and 47,000. If the index advances, 47,700 would be the initial key resistance, followed by 47,900 and 48,000.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) net sold shares worth Rs 4,468.09 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased Rs 2,040.38 crore worth of stocks on April 16, provisional data from the NSE showed.
INDIAVIX was Positive by 1.18 percent and is currently trading at 12.6150.
US markets have been trading sideways for the past two days, following a week-long decline. We have seen a decline in the Indian markets due to global anxiety and geopolitical concerns, followed by significant selling by FIIs over the last three days. Nifty has solid support at 22000-22100 levels.
