Power Grid soars on getting nod for project proposals worth Rs 705.51 crore

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 285.40, up by 3.30 points or 1.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 282.10 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 283.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 285.80 and Rs. 282.00 respectively. So far 24460 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 363.10 on 27-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 247.50 on 28-Feb-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 294.50 and Rs. 280.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 265718.25 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.34%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.05% and 3.61% respectively.
Power Grid Corporation of India has received approval for project proposals worth Rs 705.51 crore. The Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects in their meeting held on September 26, 2025 has approved the same.
Of the total, the first project proposal is for implementation of ‘VOIP Communication system for Grid-Operation for all Five Regions NR, NER, SR, WR, ER as PAN India’, at an estimated cost of Rs 209.68 crore. The system is scheduled to be commissioned within 18 months i.e. by August 23, 2026.
Another project proposal is for implementation of ‘Disaster Preparedness of Transmission Infrastructure: Procurement of 20 Sets (300 Towers) of Emergency Restoration System (ERS) under Make in India’, at an estimated cost of Rs 495.83 crore. The system is scheduled to be commissioned by April 19, 2027.
