Pharma stocks trade lower as Trump proposes steep tariff on generic drugs
Pharmaceutical stocks were trading under pressure on the BSE after US President Donald Trump proposed tariffs of up to 200% on generic drug imports into the United States following a two-year tariff-free period.
Lupin is currently trading at Rs. 2422.75, down by 91.65 points or 3.65% from its previous closing of Rs. 2514.40 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 2498.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2498.90 and Rs. 2410.05 respectively. So far 11765 shares were traded on the counter.
Aurobindo Pharma is currently trading at Rs. 1525.80, down by 54.65 points or 3.46% from its previous closing of Rs. 1580.45 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 1571.20 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1571.20 and Rs. 1515.15 respectively. So far 41913 shares were traded on the counter.
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories is currently trading at Rs. 1187.70, down by 18.85 points or 1.56% from its previous closing of Rs. 1206.55 on the BSE. The scrip opened at Rs. 1199.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1202.00 and Rs. 1184.10 respectively. So far 68187 shares were traded on the counter.
