“Indian equities witnessed a positive session today, with the BSE Sensex closing around 82,172, up nearly 0.49%, led by buying in IT, metals, and select auto names. The broader market sentiment remained upbeat, supported by firm global cues and expectations of steady Q2 earnings. IT stocks extended gains ahead of key results, reflecting optimism around demand recovery, while metal counters strengthened on higher global commodity prices.

On the other hand, banking and financials saw mild profit booking after recent outperformance. The market breadth remained healthy, indicating sustained domestic participation even as foreign flows stayed mixed. With global markets stabilizing and volatility easing, investors appear to be shifting focus towards fundamentally strong sectors. Going forward, market direction will hinge on earnings announcements and commentary from managements, especially in consumption and financial segments. We expect the near-term trend to stay range-bound with a positive bias, supported by resilient domestic macro fundamentals.”
