“AMFI October 2025 Trends: Investors Favour Debt as AUM Rises 5.6% Mutual fund industry assets grew 5.6% in October 2025 to Rs 61.98 lakh crore, led by strong inflows into Income and Debt Oriented Schemes, which rose 10% to Rs 19.51 lakh crore. Within this category, Overnight, Liquid, and Ultra Short Duration Funds accounted for nearly three-fourths of the Rs 1.72 lakh crore inflows — highlighting a clear tilt toward shortterm, low-duration strategies. Equity and Hybrid Schemes also expanded their AUM but at a relatively slower pace, marginally losing share to debt-oriented products. This pattern of flows suggests a postfestival moderation in sentiment — from bullish to a more cautious, sideways regime — as investors await clearer confirmation of market momentum before raising equity allocations”.
