NSE-SME listed Vishnusurya Projects led consortium bags 60 MLD desalination project in Tuticorin

NSE-SME listed Vishnusurya Projects and Infra Ltd led consortium has bagged a 60 million litres per day sea-water desalination project in village Mullakadu in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu.
The project valued at Rs 2,217 crore in consortium with JWIL and Israel-headquartered IDE has been awarded by State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Ltd (SIPCOT) through hybrid annuity model (HAM) on public-private partnership (PPP) basis.
IDE Technologies is one of the world’s major providers of water treatment technologies, with strengths in seawater and brackish water desalination while JWIL Infra Limited is an EPC, turnkey solutions provider Company in water and wastewater sector.
SIPCOT has an upcoming industrial Park for semiconductor manufacturing industries among others that produce Lithium – Ion Batteries and this desalination project would ensure uninterrupted supply of water.
“This project will enable uninterrupted water supply for key sectors like green hydrogen and other strategic industries and mitigates ecological stress on groundwater and surface reservoirs by leveraging seawater, alleviating pressure on scarce freshwater sources,” said V Sanal Kumar, CEO & Whole-time director, Vishnusurya Projects and Infra - a prominent player in the water infrastructure projects with Pan-India presence.
The project would offer a transformative leap for Tamil Nadu’s industrial ecosystem as it underwrites water reliability, accelerates green-tech industrial growth, and reinforces environmental stewardship for sustainable development, Sanal Kumar said as part of positioning the region as a green and water-secure industrial hub.
