• UK retail sales rose by 1.0% y-o-y on a like-for-like basis in September 2026, exceeding forecasts for a 0.7% gain and accelerating from 0.5% in the previous month. • The Russian trade surplus widened to USD 11.7 billion in August of 2026 from USD 7.3 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, the highest for the month since 2022. • China's total vehicle sales fell 8.4% y-o-y to 3 million units in September 2026, following a 5.1% drop in August, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
