KFin Technologies jumps on inking pact to acquire controlling stake in Ascent Fund Services
KFin Technologies is currently trading at Rs. 1117.80, up by 64.20 points or 6.09% from its previous closing of Rs. 1053.60 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 1072.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1117.80 and Rs. 1066.80 respectively. So far 53524 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1,640.00 on 30-Dec-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 600.00 on 18-Apr-2024.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1124.70 and Rs. 992.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 18652.11 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 44.83% and 22.21% respectively.
KFin Technologies (KFintech) has entered into a definitive agreement with Ascent Fund Services Pte (Ascent) to acquire controlling stake of 51% for $34.7 million, with a path to 100% ownership over the next five years. Post this transaction, the company will become the sole promoter of Ascent, and the residual 49% stake will be acquired in three equal tranches of 16.33% each after the end of fiscal year 2028, 2029, and 2030 respectively. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
The acquisition shall expedite the company’s entry into the fast growing and large market of global fund administration industry having more than $12 billion annual revenue pool. Ascent will help the company to gain an immediate and scaled access to global fund administration market with requisite licenses / permits to render services across multiple international jurisdictions, diversified portfolio of clients, sticky and recurring revenue, and experienced team possessing strong domain expertise. Ascent’s client acquisition and service capability backed by KFintech’s technology finesse and operational efficiency will enhance the duo’s ability to partner with funds throughout a fund lifecycle, and to become a single point provider of global fund services.
