Economic News

* Rs10,000-Crore ATF Price Stabilisation Scheme Fails to Gain Traction: The government's Rs 10,000-crore aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price stabilisation scheme has failed to take off, with no airline opting into the voluntary programme. Introduced to shield airlines from fuel price volatility by capping ATF prices at around Rs115 per litre for up to three years, the scheme lost its appeal after international crude prices declined, bringing market-linked ATF prices below the capped level. With airlines choosing to benefit from lower spot prices instead, the scheme remains inactive despite being designed to compensate state-owned oil marketing companies for selling fuel at capped rates.

Global News

He claimed Iran had been significantly weakened militarily and highlighted the US's strategic pressure campaign, including restrictions on Iranian oil exports. The remarks come as US-Iran talks, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, remain temporarily paused, with key issues such as Iran's enriched uranium stockpile still under negotiation.
