JSW Energy rises on commissioning 317 MW RE capacity in August

JSW Energy is currently trading at Rs. 526.25, up by 4.65 points or 0.89% from its previous closing of Rs. 521.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 525.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 529.70 and Rs. 524.70 respectively. So far 49220 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 804.95 on 24-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 419.10 on 17-Feb-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 529.70 and Rs. 505.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 91836.49 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.27%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 23.80% and 6.93% respectively. 

JSW Energy has commissioned renewable energy (RE) capacity of 317 MW during the month of August 2025, taking the installed capacity to 13,097 MW. The capacity addition is well-diversified across generation sources with Hydro (Kutehr) comprising of 240 MW, wind at 43 MW and solar at 34 MW. Share of renewables in the overall capacity increases to 57% constituting of wind capacity at 3,617 MW, solar capacity at 2,192 MW and hydro capacity at 1,631 MW.

This capacity addition is timely in nature and will enable the company to benefit from the peak renewable generation season during the year and will contribute meaningfully to overall renewable output.

The company has total locked-in generation capacity of 30.3 GW comprising of 13.1 GW operational, 12.7 GW under-construction across thermal and renewable and has pipeline of 4.6 GW. The company also has 29.4 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through hydro pumped storage projects of 26.4 GWh and battery energy storage system of 3.0 GWh. The company aims to reach 30 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by FY 2030 and achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
