IREDA declines as RBI rejects request of equity investment in Upper Karnali Hydropower Project

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) is currently trading at Rs. 144.55, down by 5.15 points or 3.44 % from its previous closing of Rs. 149.70 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 149.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 150.50 and Rs. 144.50 respectively. So far 1129236 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 310.00 on 15-Jul-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 121.00 on 14-Mar-2024.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 158.60 and Rs. 143.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 38972.59 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 2.48% and 22.51% respectively.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has not acceded to the request of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) for equity investment for development and implementation of 900 MW Upper Karnali Hydro Electric Power project in Nepal. However, the Company will represent again to the RBI in this regard.
IREDA is a Public Limited Government Company established as a Non-Banking Financial Institution in 1987 engaged in promoting, developing and extending financial assistance for setting up projects relating to new and renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency/conservation with the motto: ‘Energy For Ever’.
