India welcomes 2024 with prayers; devotees seek blessings

As the dawn broke on the first day of 2024, people across the country welcomed New Year with prayers. People across the country thronged to worship places and offered prayers for well-being and prosperous life ahead. Devotees visited Mata Vaishno Devi Temple in J&K’s Katra to offer prayers on the first day of 2024. Similarly, Kalkaji Temple and Pracheen Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place in Delhi also witnessed rush of devotees. A large number of devotees visited and offered prayers at Guwahati’s Maa Kamakhya Temple. Meanwhile, devotees took part in the first morning prayers of 2024 at Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple in Mumbai. Meanwhile, the first ‘Aarti’ of 2024 was held at Somnath temple in Gujarat. People took part in the first Ganga Aarti and Surya Puja at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. To welcome the new year, devotees took a holy dip at Saryu Ghat in Ayodhya and offered prayers. People also took the holy dip in the River Ganga at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar.
