India's growth story offers vast opportunities for Estonian businesses: Piyush Goyal

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has called for deeper collaboration between India and Estonia in trade, investment, innovation and technology as he addressed the India–Estonia Business Forum in Tallinn during his official visit to the Baltic nation.

The forum brought together senior government representatives, industry leaders and business delegations from both countries to explore new opportunities for expanding bilateral economic cooperation and strengthening commercial ties.

The event began with welcome remarks by Estonia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Margus Tsahkna, followed by the inaugural address by Goyal.

Highlighting India's economic transformation over the past two decades, the Union Minister said the country has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing major economies, driven by sustained reforms, a rapidly expanding manufacturing base and a thriving innovation ecosystem.

Goyal emphasised that India's robust growth trajectory and investor-friendly policy environment have created significant opportunities for global businesses.

He invited Estonian companies to partner with India across a wide range of sectors, noting that the country's growing industrial capabilities and technology-driven economy offer immense potential for long-term collaboration.

Senior Estonian government officials presented an overview of the country's business ecosystem, digital governance framework and innovation-led growth model, showcasing areas where both nations can complement each other's strengths.

Representatives from Indian industry also shared their perspectives on India's economic progress, rising investment potential and the scope for enhancing business partnerships with Estonia.

Discussions during the forum focused on expanding bilateral trade, boosting investment flows and fostering innovation-led partnerships. Participants also explored opportunities for collaboration in emerging sectors such as digital technologies, start-ups and advanced manufacturing.

The business forum also featured networking sessions that enabled direct interactions between industry leaders, entrepreneurs and stakeholders from both countries, aimed at identifying new business opportunities and strengthening commercial engagement.

The day's engagements concluded with a networking reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Estonia, providing a platform for business leaders and stakeholders to deepen business-to-business connections and further strengthen the economic and people-to-people ties between India and Estonia.
