IEX gains on reporting over 6% growth in electricity traded volume during June

Indian Energy Exchange is currently trading at Rs. 199.45, up by 1.90 points or 0.96% from its previous closing of Rs. 197.55 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 198.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 200.25 and Rs. 197.50 respectively. So far 21328 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 244.35 on 24-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 151.05 on 04-Mar-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 200.25 and Rs. 189.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 17615.39 crore.
The Institutions and Non-Institutions held 50.23% and 49.76% stake respectively in the company.
Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has achieved monthly electricity traded volume of 10,852 million units (MU) in June 2025, marking a 6.5% increase on year-on-year basis. A total of 32.32 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates were traded during the month, marking a 636% year on year increase.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2026, IEX achieved electricity traded volume of 32,382 MU, marking a 15% year on year increase. During the quarter, IEX traded 52.65 lakh renewable energy certificates recording a 149% year on year increase. According to government data published in June 2025, the country's energy consumption reached 150.04 BUs, representing 1.5% decline year-on-year due to early onset of monsoons. The Market Clearing Price in the Day Ahead Market at Rs 3.90/unit during June 2025, declined 28% year-on-year. Similarly, the Market clearing price in the Real Time Market at Rs 3.73/unit during June 2025, declined 26% year-on-year.
