ICICI Bank rises on completing acquisition of upto 2% stake in ICICI Prudential Life Insurance

ICICI Bank is currently trading at Rs. 1439.55, up by 11.55 points or 0.81% from its previous closing of Rs. 1428.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1431.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1452.00 and Rs. 1431.25 respectively. So far 357504 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1479.90 on 20-Jul-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1187.55 on 02-Apr-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1,452.00 and Rs. 1418.85 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1032070.98 crore.

ICICI Bank has completed the acquisition of 29,015,693 equity shares of face value of Rs 10 each, representing around 2% of total shareholding, of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company (ICICI Life), a subsidiary of the bank, in multiple tranches. Post this acquisition, the bank’s shareholding in ICICI Life stands at around 52.8%.

The bank has acquired the stake for a consideration of around Rs 1470 crore through the stock exchange mechanism. The shares have been acquired through multiple tranches executed between July 22, 2026 and September 2, 2026.

Earlier on June 24, 2026, Reserve Bank of India had accorded its approval to the bank for purchase of additional shareholding of up to 2% in ICICI Life to maintain its shareholding in ICICI Life above 50%.
