Hindustan Unilever rises on getting CCI’s nod to acquire Minimalist's parent company
Hindustan Unilever is currently trading at Rs. 2206.05, up by 35.00 points or 1.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 2171.05 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 2190.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2209.60 and Rs. 2178.80 respectively. So far 19605 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3034.50 on 23-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2136.00 on 04-Mar-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2230.00 and Rs. 2156.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 515876.26 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.90%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 26.13% and 11.96% respectively.
Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has received Competition Commission of India’s (CCI) approval to acquire beauty and personal care brand Minimalist's parent company Uprising Science. Jaipur-based Uprising Science is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of beauty and personal care products, baby care and hair care items under the brand name 'Minimalist'.
The proposed transaction involves the acquisition by Hindustan Unilever, of 90.5 per cent shareholding of Uprising Science, with eventual acquisition of the remaining 9.5 per cent share holding of the Uprising Science in about two years from the completion date as per the terms set out in the share purchase & subscription agreement executed by and between HUL and Uprising Science.
The company will also make a primary infusion of Rs 45 crore with an eventual acquisition of the remaining 9.5 per cent of Uprising's shareholding.
Hindustan Unilever is in the FMCG business comprising primarily of Home Care, Beauty & Personal Care and Foods & Refreshment segments.
