Hindalco Industries rises on signing technology partnership with Italy-based Metra SpA

Hindalco Industries is currently trading at Rs. 480.50, up by 2.90 points or 0.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 477.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 477.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 482.70 and Rs. 474.85 respectively. So far 25249 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 504.00 on 18-Jan-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 358.80 on 28-Sep-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 490.90 and Rs. 467.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 107754.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 34.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 52.55% and 9.13% respectively.

Hindalco Industries has signed a technology partnership with Italy-based Metra SpA renowned for its expertise in producing structured and value-added aluminium extrusions. The partnership aims to enable the production of large-size aluminium extrusion and fabrication technology for building high-speed aluminium rail coaches in India, underscoring Hindalco’s flagbearer role in upholding the Indian Government’s vision to foster superior domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Combining Hindalco’s vast experience in aluminium manufacturing and Metra’s cutting-edge knowhow in aluminium extrusion, machining and welding, the collaboration marks a pivotal move to bring world class technology – currently limited to Europe, China, Japan and a few other countries – to India. The tie-up provides Hindalco the launching pad to drive the ambitious upgradation programme of Indian Railways that runs the world’s largest rail network.

Hindalco Industries is an industry leader in aluminium and copper. The company’s aluminium units across the country encompass the entire gamut of operations from bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting to downstream rolling, extrusions, foils and alloy wheels, along with captive power plants and coal mines.
