Grasim gains on starting commercial production at Kharagpur paint plant

Grasim Industries is currently trading at Rs 2814.90, up by 40.30 points or 1.45% from its previous closing of Rs 2774.60 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs 2774.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs 2822.25 and Rs 2774.60 respectively. So far 22534 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52-week high of Rs 2911.80 on 22-Sep-2025 and a 52-week low of Rs 2276.10 on 13-Jan-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 2831.40 and Rs 2760.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 191712.74 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 43.11%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 31.70% and 23.04% respectively.
Grasim Industries has commenced commercial production at its Birla Opus Paints plant located at Kharagpur, West Bengal. The plant has an installed capacity of 180 MLPA of Water based Paint, 20 MLPA of Distemper, 30 MLPA of Solvent based Paint and 6 MLPA of Colorants.
With this commencement of commercial production, the company’s all 6 green-field plants have commenced commercial production and its installed capacity of decorative paints sold under the brand ‘Birla Opus’ has reached to 1,332 million litres per annum (MLPA).
