Dhaniya futures surge on lower sowing
Dhaniya futures surged on NCDEX, supported by reports of lower sowing acreage. While, expectation of pick-up in festive demand from local markets also kept the prices up. As per the Gujarat Agriculture Department data, Dhaniya has been sown in approx. 1.25 lakh hectares, down by around 4% from 1.30 lakh hectare compared to same time last year so far.
The contract for January delivery was trading at Rs 10264.00, higher by 1.34%or Rs 136.00 from its previous closing of Rs 10,128.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 7,260 lots.
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 11200.00, higher by 1.45% or Rs 160.00 from its previous closing of Rs 11,040.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 12,415 lots on NCDEX.
